34 weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 34 Weeks!
Size of baby: who knows... giant?
Total Weight Gain/Loss: +37 {hate writing that... but it WILL ALL come off! Plus maybe a little extra}
Maternity Clothes: Nothing but maternity clothes from here on out
Gender: Girl
Movement: Constantly- starting to really feel her in my ribs!
Sleep: Still pretty good- it does take a while to fall asleep due to all the movement
What I miss:
Cravings: nothing specific
Best Moment This Week: finishing a few projects for the nursery... maybe in the next week we will actually get them on the wall

Sorry, no picture today. I actually did get up and get ready {because I subbed again today} but forgot to take a picture. And now I am in my sweats and pretty sure I am not getting off the couch until I am moving to the bed! So yea.

About subbing.... yesterday was amazing, while today- not so much. It was first grade again but at a different school. Let's just say it was rough. They were pretty much out of control and I spent the day trying to not constantly yell at them and actually complete something from the lesson plans. Oh well. I survived the day.

Now, on to bed so I can go to work tomorrow!

You must be 62...

So today I had a wonderful day. I have been trying to sub in Owasso, but have barely gotten to because of work and doctor's appointments. Well today I subbed in 1st grade at Stone Canyon here in Owasso. Let me just say I was pretty excited. This basically {is} my dream job! I love 1st graders for their attitudes, energy and of course the crazy things they say. {And I love teaching them to read and seeing the "get" it!} The day was great! It was so nice having 18 kids {as opposed to 25 in my student teaching last Spring]. It was calm, mostly {except the one student that constantly was telling me what they do next}. Eventually I ended up showing the class the lesson plans, telling them I had a plan for the day but if I had questions I would ask!

They were just great though! And I get to go back to this school to sub next week twice! Super excited!

{At the end of the day they were allowed to ask me any questions they wanted. The first one was about my age... and yes, the first guess was 62!}

Show Us Your Life: Baby S Room

Welcome all from Kelly's Korner. I am pretty excited about this weeks topic, seeing as how we are expecting our first baby girl in roughly 4-6 weeks! Crazy is really the only way to explain this.

We still have a few things to do in the room. Basically our whole goal was for the room not to be too loud. I was really nervous that if we went with bright, girly colors I would get sick of it pretty quickly! So we went more neutral. The idea is mainly to have the different shades of green with small pops of pink and brown. {Originally it was green and plum, but it was super hard to find true plum that wasn't expensive}.

I was hoping to have the room totally done by this point- but no such luck. We are still working on things. So here it is: a work in progress.

This is looking in from the door. I have to say I LOVE LOVE LOVE the paint. It is exactly what we wanted! It took my wonderful {amazing} husband many, many hours to do this, but it is perfect. And I promised him that it can stay this way until we move out of this house! The wreath I made using all the flowers from my sisters wedding this summer. {Don't mind the small type Christmas tree- James is super ready for christmas this year, so we bought a tree for her room... probably will be moved to a new location at some point}

Still looking from the door. The crib, and rocker we got from my sister-in-law. The green bedding we got from my sister. I am planning to paint a canvas with Numbers 6:24 to hang over the crib. This was the blessing that my dad would say to us kids each night before we went to bed {even if we were at a friends house- we would call home for our blessing before bed}. It is a very special passage to me and something that I pray over our baby girl each day!

The changing table is very special as well. This dresser is actually the one that James was changed on as a kid. His mom let us have it {after I found it hiding in their house} and I am so glad she did. The mirror will be hanging above the dresser... soon.

For four years this dresser has not had knobs. After looking for quite a while, {deeply wishing I could afford knobs from Anthropologie} I finally broke down and just bought some knobs from Lowe's and painted them.

We also have a paper flower to hang in the room. Also, I have two dresses from when I was a baby that we will be hanging on the wall somewhere, hopefully from some super cute knobs too!

We still need some things for the room like drapes, a lamp, some storage baskets... more I am sure! But we are getting there!

Pregnancy tidbits

Oh the heartburn... annoying. The weird thing is, it doesn't really seem to be triggered by anything necessarily. Basically I just get heartburn for three days at a time no matter what I eat or drink- but then it goes away.

We need to talk about my NEED for Kraft Macaroni and Cheese. I honestly could eat this every single day. However, some days I actually have to go to work. However, on each day that I am home you may find me around 12-1 sitting on the couch consuming at least half the box, if not more! It is a horrible thing. Therefore, today when I go grocery shopping for this week, I will not be buying anymore. {I am eating the last box that remained in the house at this very moment!}

I guess all of those wonderful 1st trimester issues just return in the last weeks of pregnancy. {headaches, nap every day, nauseous A LOT, hungry all the time} Oh well, at the very most I only have 7 weeks left to be pregnant... CRAZY!

On the agenda for tonight... Class #2 Breast feeding- should be super fun. {only slightly sarcastic}

Baby Showers

Reader Beware: Picture overload

This week we have had three baby showers! The first one was thrown by my small group girls at church! It was a surprise. They did awesome! It was so sweet of them to think of us!

Baby shower #2 was at my mom's house, thrown by my two sisters and mom. {of course, Grace helped too!}

The shower was awesome! We had lots of friends come and got some great stuff!
Elizabeth roasting marshmellows!

The food: all things I have been craving {roasted marshmellows, mustard, mint oreo truffles, chips and queso}

Not sure about why my mom is SO excited, but it's a fun pic!

The aftermath...

Blankets galore!
Baby shower #3 was at my sister-in-law Cari's house. Her and Janice were the hostesses. This shower was mainly comprised of family from James' side that live in the area. Unfortunately, I don't have pictures! I need to get some from my mom. It was super cute: all pink and green and watermelon {one of James' most favorite things}. We got a lot of awesome stuff- some cute clothes, giftcards and this beauty...

I am super excited to be using this after the first of the year! We are hoping that the carseat/carrier we want will fit in it and thus we won't need to buy a completely different stroller!

Yay for baby showers. We have one left. It will be at the church, thrown by some of my very close friends!

32 Weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 32 Weeks!
Size of baby: not sure... over 4 lbs and 17 inches
Total Weight Gain/Loss: +35 weeks {it's getting up there...}
Maternity Clothes: Nothing but maternity clothes from here on out
Gender: Girl
Movement: Constantly
Sleep: Great {minus the twelve times I wake up each night to go to the bathroom... starting to get annoying!}
What I miss: Running/going all out in zumba
Cravings: Right now I can't get enough Kraft Macaroni and Cheese {with hotdogs, if possible}
Best Moment This Week: We have officially decided on a first name... but we aren't telling yet! Still working on the middle name.

Overall, I am still feeling pretty good. I have been way more tired and taking lots of naps for sure! I am working less and doing more to the nursery, which is super fun! So more about those projects later!

Baby Care Class

Last night we took our first class at the hospital in preparations for this little girl. It was Newborn 101: Baby Care. I actually was surprised by how much I learned. Not that I thought I was ready for a baby {or that I am now, having taken the class}, but it was very informative. Mostly the pediatrician talked about what they will do in the hospital, things that are normal for the baby right after birth and when you need to call someone after you have gone home. Then the nurse had us swaddle, change diapers, burp, and bathe a giant doll. All in all, pretty good. I think my favorite part of the whole class were the comments the pediatrician would make, that were clearly meant to be funny, but NO ONE laughed... that is except us! If you know James, then you know that he laughs at almost anything that is remotely funny- and he laughs LOUD. Now I could contain my laughs to a chuckle when I realized no one else thought these things were funny. But not James. He would just laugh his normal laugh. I think the pediatrician enjoyed it though. And I love that James didn't really care that we were the only ones laughing, except the fact that he didn't understand {because it was CLEARLY funny!}.

So I had been freaking out kind of because our little baby could make her presence known in as early as 4 weeks and we had NOTHING at all {well besides some furniture}. Let's just say after the last week I feel much better about the situation. We have had 3 showers in the last week {one at church from my 8th grade girls small group; one at my mom's house with our close friends; one at my sister-in-laws with a lot of James' family}. I will def. be posting more about these later with pics of all of the wonderful things we got! The great news is, now we can really get ready for her to come. We have things for the room and most of the essential items we will be needing once she arrives. So today I sat down and made a pretty giant list of all the things that NEED to happen before she comes. The race is on though to see if I can complete everything in time!

Show Us Your Life: Kitchens

I know this is a little early, but tomorrow may end up being a super busy day. So I thought I would do this now, so I don't get off track!

So this week in our home tour it is kitchens. Our kitchen is nice. It's small but works for us. Someday I would love to have a huge kitchen with a breakfast bar and all sorts of fun stuff... but for now- this works perfectly! {Although I keep thinking, "will this still be big enough when the baby comes?" "Where are all those bottles, cups, and other random things that babies need, going to go??}

At some point we will be putting tile down and have talked about a back splash {but not sure it is necessary}. There really isn't anything I don't like about the kitchen right now. Although I could ALWAYS use more cabinet space!

31 Weeks & More

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 31 Weeks!
Size of baby: As of Monday she weighs 13lbs 13oz... which is HUGE!! {After last weeks Yorkie Terrier, I am a little nervous to see what she resembles in size this week}
Total Weight Gain/Loss: +34 weeks {it's getting up there...} Well, not so bad: four oranges.
Maternity Clothes: Nothing but maternity clothes from here on out
Gender: Girl
Movement: Constantly
Sleep: Great {minus the twelve times I wake up each night to go to the bathroom... starting to get annoying!}
What I miss: Running/going all out in zumba
Cravings: Yesterday I didn't have an appetite at all, while today I am eating everything in sight!
Best Moment This Week: We have officially decided on a first name... but we aren't telling yet!

In non pregnancy related news, I finally got to sub today! I have been waiting for two months to be able to sub so today was nice. It was quite interesting. I worked at the 7th grade center in the LD class. It wasn't what I expected but I did enjoy my day. It really reminded me of working at the school in Joliet.
Also, James is gone this week so I am all alone {minus small child in the belly and Hadlee, of course}. Luckily I have been able to keep myself busy so far. As long as I can keep sleeping at night all should be fine.

I am super excited because Saturday is our first shower! I am sooooooo ready to get stuff for the nursery and start really setting everything up. I am also super excited because I will get to see three of my favorite people- of which I have not seen in a while....

Abigail {younger sis}
Elizabeth {older sis}

Needless to say, it should be a pretty great weekend. Of course that is all AFTER I will get to see James again. I am always ready for him to be home!!
